"Who hath put wisdom
in the inward parts?

Or who hath given
understanding
to the heart?"

- Job

“It is truly a creative
universe in that the future
is not pre-ordained but
spontaneously and freely
made by every being, from
elementary particles to galaxies,
from microbes to the giant
redwood trees, all mutually
entangled in a universal wave-
function that never collapses, but
like a constantly changing cosmic consciousness, maintains and
informs the universal whole”

- Dr. Mae Wan Ho, PhD

Great De and its features
Flow entirely from Dao.
Dao objectified
is only intangible and illusive.
Intangible an illusive
yet within it are images.
Illusive and intangible
yet in it are forms.
Shadowy and obscure
yet within it is essence.
Essence so real
that within it is true potency.

- Dao De Jing, Laozi

Frequently Asked Questions

I need consistent bodywork, but cannot afford it.
How can you be of service to me?

The age-old question of healthcare needs answering. Massage is more than a mere luxury; for some people, it is their only form of relief from pain, or the only way to address significant musculoskeletal problems.

I try to lighten the issue of cost in the following ways:

1) Discounts on purchases of multiple sessions: if you schedule and pay for five sessions in a row, you will receive a 15% discount on all services.

2) Referrals. For each friend that you refer, I discount $30 from your next massage.

3) Fewer appointments, with an emphasis on self-care. Self-care is at the heart of all true healing. I can teach you techniques for self-massage and overview your lifestyle habits thoroughly so that you can come up with a plan that includes intermittent massage that will serve to supplement your own self-care activities.

4) Massage training. If you have a friend or partner who would like to give or trade massage with you, I can teach them and you massage techniques and cater the training session to your particular needs, including an overview of anatomy, body mechanics, and communication. This way you can get more massage through giving and receiving with friends, but with a greater knowledge-base.

5) Consideration of trade. Trade can be a very rewarding form of mutual acknowledgement of value, with no middlemen. I will always at least consider trade.

What can I Expect from a Massage Treatment?
Massage therapy treatments usually last 60 minutes or as long as 1.5 to 2 hours. For some conditions (especially chronic ones), a series of appointments is advised. At the first appointment, I will discuss your symptoms, medical history, the results you (and your health care provider, if applicable) desire, and possibly other factors such as your work and levels of stress. I will likely perform some evaluations through touch. If I find nothing that would make a massage inadvisable, I will proceed with the massage. At any time, you can bring up questions or concerns. During treatment, you might be fully clothed or partially or fully undressed (in which case you will be covered by a sheet or towel; only the parts of your body that I am currently massaging are exposed). I may massage aids, such as ice, heat, oil, or fragrances. I may also provide recommendations for self-care, such as drinking fluids, learning better movement, and self-care activities.
